Oshawa Taxpayers Federation in "A Tale of Two Taxpayers Groups"

The Oshawa Taxpayers Federation (OTF) has been written about in a recent article by Jillian Follert on 23rd June 2009 Oshawa This Week.

As a reminder, our next General Meeting is next Thursday 2nd June 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bobby Orr Lounge at the Oshawa Civic Centre, 99 Thornton Road South.

What Jillian Follert fails to mention is that one of the OTF Board of Directors member is Tim Eye, who is a VOCAL and active NDP-er of CAW Local 222, who was voted by the OTF members into the board at the last General Meeting.

This fact should silence those that wish to cause chaos, divisiveness and un-productivity that Oshawa has had enough of.

Enough of the nay-sayers and let's all get together for a COMMON CAUSE!!!

Good Luck OTF!

Solidarity IS key. The article seems to show that the other group seems to be focusing too much on discrediting this one.

If the other group has been up and running for as long as it says it has, what has it done?

Jillian Follert wrote a relatively balanced article and the OTF appreciates her taking the time to hear from both sides of the story. It's unfortunate that so much emphasis was placed on the partisanship of Taxpayer Groups rather than the real problem --- Why is it that a city the size of Oshawa needs more than 1 Taxpayers Group. Obviously there is a need for accountibility in how money is spent in Oshawa. It's important to note that it makes no sense for Taxpayer groups to compete. The OTF encourages any resident and/or group with the same goals and visions to continue their efforts.
